How to start a prediction league with friends (free)

A prediction league is a private group where you and your friends make calls on your own questions and compete on your own table. On Vatic you create the league, share an invite link, and everyone who joins can play the league's markets and chat. Nobody outside can see anything, and it's completely free.

Why a league beats a group chat argument

Every group has the friend who "always said" their team would win. A league settles it: calls are made before the event, on the record, and the table shows who actually reads the game best over a whole season.

How league points work

Everyone in a league starts with 1,000 league points. They exist only inside that league:

  • They have no value and never touch your Vpoints, VXP or the public leaderboards.
  • If you drop below 100, a Top up button sets you back to 500 for free, once a day.
  • Your stars and public rank are never affected.

So a bad week in the league costs you nothing outside it.

Set it up in a few minutes

  1. Open Leagues and create a league with a name your group will recognise.
  2. Share the invite link in your group chat. Everyone who joins needs a free account (18+).
  3. Add the league's first markets: next weekend's matches, the big fight, who finishes top of the table.
  4. Use the league chat to argue about it, as you would anyway.

Questions that work well in a league

  • Weekly fixtures: one market per big match, or a multiple-choice "who wins" for the weekend's derby.
  • Season-long: who wins the title, who goes down, who's top scorer.
  • Inside jokes: anything your group cares about, as long as the answer can be checked.

Keep each question clear and set a closing time before the answer is known.

Office and fantasy-style leagues

A league works for colleagues too: a tournament sweepstake without money, or a weekly "call the scores" table. Because league points have no value and nobody pays, it's an easy thing to set up for a group.

Then take it public

When your group wants more, the public markets and Ranked rounds use your free Vpoints, and the leaderboard shows how you compare with everyone.
